    Dear all,
I’ve just purchased the plugin as well as the “full width” theme. On integration however the menu always stays open and active on page load, although “‘show_menu_on_page_load’ => false” is set.

What am I possibly missing? Any hint would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Oliver

    Hey Oliver,

Unfortunately you haven’t provided a site URL to look at so it’s impossible to say.

    Please advise

    Dear Peter,
well, I can’t at this point as I’m working on a copy of the already existing live site in my local dev environment.
Please let me know what informations I can provide other than the very clear description of what’s unexpectedly happening.

    Best,
    Oliver

    Hey Oliver,

As you say you’ve checked the only option that could cause it. I would really need to see it on a site so I can investigate as it could be anything.

Is there no development or staging environment I can look at?

I’ll prepare one for you by tomorrow and send the link via support-email/contact form (or is there any option for a private post here that I’m missing?)

    Hey Oliver,

Email is perfect. Just to confirm you have the Show Menu on Page Load option turned off in my plugin admin and haven’t overwritten it in the shortcode or similar?

Also, do you have any console errors on page load?

    Please advise

    Peter

I have no overwrites at any other place that I know of. I just installed the plugin and started customizing colors etc., then purchased the theme after, installed it and have that described effect. No console errors (which I checked at first) and the option is definitely turned off.
Turned it on, saved. Reload, same (expected) behavior. Turned it off again. Reload, still the same (unexpected) behavior.

    Hey Oliver,

The last thing, have you tried disabling all other plugins and the theme and finally clearing the cache to see if the issue is still there?

I have not, to be honest. Will check that as well. Not hoping for the theme as I actually found your plugin recommended within the theme’s forum (and have seen several sites using the same theme and your plugin) :)

Will get back to you about this after I checked.

    Hey Oliver,

It could be a combination of things, that’s why I say it’s so hard to debug without a site to look at and play with.

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi Peter,

I just sent you an email with a link and login to the staging system I just set up, so you can take a deeper look at the problem.

    Thanks,
    Oliver

    Hey Oliver,

You have a console error on the site you sent over, I thought you said you didn’t or is this a new thing?

Please can you fix that and then let me know if you still have the issue.

    Hi Peter,

that was a manual addition for Google Analytics (for the shitty German law change ;) ) plus I deactivated the GA plugin on the test site. It’s gone now, however the behavior of your plugin didn’t change.
    Please check again.

    Thanks,
    Oliver

    Hey Oliver,

What theme is this you are using? There are about 20 DOM events listed for the main HTML element including some for click, page load etc.

That seems very strange to say the least. Does changing the theme or disabling the theme fix the issue as that seems to be doing all sorts of things?

    Hi Peter,
it’s Lay theme: http://laytheme.com and actually your plugin was highly recommended in their forum, so it seems that people got it working. Don’t ask me :)
As I wrote in my private email yes deactivating the theme makes your plugin work as expected. So I was hoping you might have an idea what’s happening and how this could be fixed :)

    Thanks,
    Oliver
